Adventures with the PFP Peeps + Latest Obsession

Okay for starters, last week i had another adventure with the pfp buddies! This time we decided to go on a food trail. Started with dim sum, followed by pancakes, pork knuckles for dinner and a drink for supper. Really thankful for these group of people who have decided to embark on this pfp journey with me. However, what i am proud to say is that even after all this while, we are still close and they hold a special place in my heart!

So firstly, we were supposed to meet at 9.30am at Serangoon MRT but some jokers -hint Alphy, ZH and Craig hint- were late and so we only departed Serangoon at 10.45am! Took a straight bus to Bencoolen's Sunshine Plaza! Our first destination was dim sum at an eatery called Victor's Kitchen.

Steamed Carrot Cake - Which honestly, its my favourite. Most dim sum places sell fried carrot cake so its a refreshing idea to have steamed ones. Furthermore, the sauce at the top really compliments the carrot cake. Its salty and adds flavour to this dish.

The Milk Tea - Felt that it was a good idea to put it in the bowl of ice so that at least the tea won't get diluted when the ice melts. However i didn't really like the price of it though. A small cup like this costs $3... it was okay i guess.

Chee Cheong Fun w Shrimp + Custard Bao - The shrimp chee cheong fun was really soft and....blobby(?) but really smooth. The custard bao was bigger than expected and these bloody jokers decided to order 3 trays of custard baos which is equivalent to 9 baos! The custard really does ooze out from the bun (like pus coming out of a popped pimple...okay i'm sorry for putting images into your heads.) but i felt that the skin was a bit too thick at the top and too thin at the bottom. You have to be careful when handling it so as not to break the skin of the bun.
I guess the custard bun was the main attraction and everyone's favourtite that day. Felt relieved because i was the one who looked up this place and saw some negative reviews about the food being overrated, the eatery being too dirty etc etc.

The Siew Mais and Har Gaos were average. Nothing fancy.

The Glutinous Rice was rather impressive. The leaves were fragrant and they had chinese sausage-plus points because they're my favouuurite!-and salted egg in it. The rice wasn't too sticky for me so i guess i'm okay with it. (:

After our scrumptious dimsum breakfast, we walked over to Strictly Pancakes. But made a stop at Starbucks in Cathay because the guys wanted to get a drink.

We were the only two girls there that day but itz ok!

We had 1 savory pancake and 2 sweet pancakes. Didn't really like the savory one. It was chicken with some mushroom cream sauce-i think-and asparagus. Okay the asparagus wasn't thaaat bad but i just didn't like how the pancakes tasted with the chicken and asparagus.

Walked to Cine after because twin and elgin's brilliant idea of playing darts but ended up in the guys playing LAN and us window shopping because the dart machines were under maintenance. OH! And while we were walking to cine, we bumped into the 3 musketeers of our class. Glen, Shui On and Yi Teik and the boys had a 180 degree face change when they saw the three musketeers! It was so hilarious!! Went to Kovan for Knuckles for some pork knuckles and truffle fries. Also applied for a job at a cafe/bakery with the twin called Hatter Street which i got in btw hehe

Well okay i ordered Bangers & Mash but the place was too dark so the photo can't really be seen. This is the pork knuckles which most of them ordered. It tastes like shao rou (dafaq do i spell it??) and mine is bascially mashed potatoes and sausages that reminded me of my bolster back home because its fat and short.

Headed for bowling with the buddies. I didn't bowl so i basically sat there and laughed at them because i am terrible at bowling and preferred to laugh at than BE laughed at. (; CRAIG IF YOU SEE THIS PLS DON'T BE INSULTED HAHAHAHAHAH. Oh and did i mention that there was a bowling competition being held in the alley? Thankgod we were playing at the last lane because i would feel super pressurised playing beside those experienced players! After bowling, we walked over to Lola's cafe for some drinks. I had an iced chocolate and the twin had some white pear tea thingy.

So that concluded my day with the pfp peeps!

Ps, all photos from the food trail has been shamelessly ripped off from Eunice's blog. Twin if you see this, yez i am stalking you teehee

A week after, we had movie marathon @ alphy's again. But this time i learnt how to play mahjong! And honestly i wouldn't mind playing again because its so fun! Crashed the twin's place that night because we were supposed to "work" the next day.

Okay! Onto the next topic: My latest obsession! It is none other than......

S H E R L O C K  H O L M E S

My favourite line of the episode. (S3E1)

How can someone who got shot be so attractive??

Benedict on Oscars!!

Jim Moriarty is by far the best villain/enemy.

Oh Sherlock!

Benedict Cumberbatch you are such a brilliant actor! I need Sherlock series 4 in my life.

Okay i guess this is the end of this post! Hope that i managed to balance the amount of words with the same amount of pictures.

Till next time!
